alright! this is john kohler with growingyourgreens.com.today we have another exciting episode for you. today we’re coming at you from my frontyard garden. got my plants here. got some rosemary, some cucumber, some other zucchinisstarting to grow off here; going to be harvesting those guys real soon. but today’s episodenot in my garden actually. what we’re going to do actually is we’re going to take youback in time. we’re going to go back to the future! no. we’re going to take you actually, a couplemonths ago, i visited the 2014 national hardware show, which is also the site of the lawn andgarden show and every year i do a video at the national hardware show, connect it withthe lawn and garden show, and i make a video

there to share with you guys all the new andlatest products that may help you grow a better garden. now i’ve warned you, this videois about products. if you’re not interested in products, turn this video off now. the next thing i do want to say is that tome, there are many non-valuable products at the shows that i go to, right. i’ve walkedthis whole show; it took me literally two full days to walk the show from the gardeningarea, the hardware area, all the different areas because you never know when you’regoing to find that one booth with something that i can share with you guys to enrich youguys’ lives. you guys don’t understand. i spent two eight-hour days at the nationalhardware show to walk the aisles.

sixteen hours, including walking the wholefloor, which definitely keeps me in shape because it’s a lot of walking, size of severalfootball fields, but also talking to different vendors, learning about the different products, and then deciding if i want to include them in this episode. so if you see a company inthis episode and their products, know that i talked to them, got my questions answeredfrom them and i felt confident with their products enough to share them with you guysbecause i think they can help you. and i look at products as tools. think if you tried togarden without a shovel. yes, you do actually not need a product calledthe shovel to garden. you can use your hands and dig holes and do this stuff. that beingsaid, it’d be a pain in the butt, but you

could do it. so everybody out there is usinga product right now called the computer to watch this video and i like certain productsbecause they can be valuable. of course, there are many products that are junk and there’sa ton of stuff at the show that i'm not including in this episode. so in any case, without furtherado, let’s get into some of the products that i'm sharing with you guys this time.if you want to learn more about some of the other national hardware and garden shows, check the link down below in the description. i’ll have a link to my 2012 and 2013 videos, where i show some other cool products to help you guys garden, because that’s why i dothis. i do this to show unique and innovative products. some may spark your interest, andsome might not care any particular attention

to. but if i can match a product with a personout there, and it gets you to grow food, eat things you grow with your own two hands, compostmore, save things going from the landfill, i’ve done my job. anyway, let’s get intotoday’s video. john [at the show]: alright, so the next producti’m going to share with you guys, for those of you that like to travel and have pottedplants, this is going to offer you guys a solution so that your plants can get wateredwithout you being there and without hiring a plant sitter. and it’s right here. we’reat the booth of the solar water sprite, and i want one of those little water sprites.but today i’m getting this solar water sprite, and what this solar water sprite does is itoperates without batteries and will water

your plants for you. how it works is verysimple: there’s a little solar panel here. this creates energy. the energy is used to drive a little pumpinside here, and there’s two little hoses you hook up. kinda of like inside this pottedplant. this must be used in a plotted plant; it won’t work in a raised-bed garden. there’sa pump in here that you basically put this into a big jug of water, like a five gallonbucket to water for a long time, or an old coke bottle, or a milk jug, and what happensis, it will suck up the water as needed and then basically distribute it through thisother pipe that has perforations that will drip it along the top of the plants evenly.and how it knows if your plant has enough

moisture because it has a little moisturedetector here. so all you need to do to set this up is basicallyset it in and set it where it has sunlight, some light. every 17 minutes it will checkto see the moisture level and water level as needed. before you let it go on its own, though, you need to let it know the watering cycle. so what you do is water your plantsas you normally would at the intervals you normally do — twice — and once you waterit twice, then it knows the watering schedule and it’s going to keep this moisture levelwhere it needs it so you can have an unattended garden whether you want to be on vacationand grow some vegetables without having to water. so definitely this product’s reallygreat and hopefully i’ll be able to test

these guys soon for you guys. so next i’m going to share with you guysanother solution. this is for people who may have limited mobility or getting a bit moremature and don’t want to bend over and work on their garden. and this is what i wouldconsider the cadillac of the raised bed garden is right here. it’s called the lgarden, and it says “grow what you love to eat.” and this is a garden for the 21st century.i mean they’re taking the raised bed model, basically building it out of steel so thisis going to last you a lifetime, added on wheels, and this actually is angled like thisso you can get the wheelchair under here, you could put the the chair underneath hereand work on your garden because this is about

2 ⽠feet by little over 4 feet with a nicelittle work area. you can easily work your garden and move thisbecause it’s on heavy-duty castors that’ll move like 500 pounds of all your soil andplants to the sun to where you need it. so if you’re looking for the high-end heavy-dutygarden that’s going to last you for a lifetime, this is it, the lgarden. so do you have aproblem of stinkbugs in your garden, you don’t want to use chemical sprays on your garden, well the next booth i’m going to show you guys, we’re here at rescue products, andwhat they do is actually make bug traps that you don’t have to use the chemicals. probablyone of my favorite ways to dispose of bugs is to catch them and trap them so that theycan’t get in your garden.

the main thing about the traps is you wantto catch the bugs and reduce their numbers. because if you get a bug infestation and yousee a few bugs, you don’t do nothing about it, guess what, just like us, they’re goingto mate, multiply, and create more bugs. so if you can interrupt their cycle, their wholegrowth cycle, and interrupt that before they start breeding, and capture them all, you’renot going to have the big bug issues. it’s only when you look the other way when yousee some bugs and you don’t do nothing. so that’s why i like these products herebecause they’re so well-designed. what we have here is a stinkbug trap. so many of youguys may have stinkbugs. they’ll ravage some of your vegetables and once again, atrap can be a part of a good organic control

system. so what you’re going to do is you’regoing to trap the stinkbugs and why the stinkbugs go in here is because they have a scentedpheromones in here. people have pheromones, dogs have pheromones. that’s why your dogsmells around something and wants to pee there, because it smells the pheromones in the pee. and that’s why humans are attracted to otherhuman pheromones. it’s the same thing with stinkbugs. so you put these traps out, it’llactually collect the stinkbugs. so the thing to do is you do not want to put these trapsright next to your zucchini plants because these things will attract the stinkbugs. ifit’s next to the zucchini plants, they’re going to be right near the trap and righton your zucchini plants. so what you’re

going to want to do is create a perimeteraround your garden, away from your garden to trap the stinkbugs so that they’re notgoing and attracted toward your plants but hopefully they’ll get caught in the traps.so this trap has an attractant that you put in there that’ll last about seven weeksand once that’s done, you’ll need to put another in there to basically recharge itso that it’ll continue to work and attract stinkbugs. now this trap is for outside use. if you have stinkbugs inside your house, theyactually have another trap. let me go ahead and show you guys that next. this light isfor inside your house, but this doesn’t work at all times. what you’re going todo with this light is put it in the place

where you have the most stinkbugs inside yourhouse or where they hibernate because the stinkbugs come inside your house to hibernate.you’re going to put this in like your attic and what’s going to happen is the stinkbugsgo inside your house to hibernate like the bears in the wintertime. once the weatherstarts warming up, that’s when they wake up all refreshed like, “it’s springtime!i’m now gonna mate and make more stinkbugs!” and what you want to do is catch them rightwhen they wake up. when they wake up it’s like when we wake up. when you wake up inthe morning you’re like, “whoa what’s going on?” especially after a night outat the bar. you’re kind of drunk like, “where am i?”

that’s what happens to the stinkbugs whenthey wake up in the spring when the weather gets nice. they’re like, “where am i?”and they look for the light. they look for the light first thing. if you’ve got thislight here, they’re going to be attracted to go there and you can catch them, interrupttheir cycle and then be able to dispose of them. so this only works like one time ofthe year so if you put it in the summertime like, “i’m not catching any stinkbugs!”that’s exactly why. and i’m explaining this to you guys, but if you read the instructionsand read the instructions and follow the directions as it says and don’t just put these trapswherever, you’re going to have success in my opinion with these guys because they doa lot of r&d and research and tests to design

the shape of the traps and stuff like thatto make it the most effective for you guys. so next thing we’re going to talk abouthere is japanese and oriental beetle traps. so if you have the japanese and oriental beetles, you can get this trap. once again, this is the trap here and this can be reused, so youcould put it out and guess what, japanese beetles and oriental beetles are some of thedumbest creatures and this trap is very simple. what you do is take the attractant here, youopen this up, you drop it in here, and it’s just a bag, right? you hang this from a tree, once again, hang this away from what you’re trying to protect, for example your rosesin your garden. the japanese beetles fly around, hit this, drop in the bag, and they can’tget out. and then what you’re going to do

once this bag gets full, and trust me, ifyou have japanese beetles this bag will get full, you could then use this zipper seal, unlock it and you’re going to dump the beetles in soapy water, and that’ll be the end ofthem. and you can put it back out to catch morejapanese beetles. so the last product we’re going to talk about today is for use insideyour home. and this is a challenge that i actually have a problem with, having a lotof fruits and fresh fruits around my house, even like tomatoes will attract the fruitflies. once you get a fruit fly outbreak in your house man, they’re hard to get ridof. while you could make your own trap, they actually have the fruit fly trap that basicallyattracts them with the 15-day lures. these

are pesticide free and the cool thing aboutthis is that it looks pretty cool. some of the fruit fly traps aren’t as effective.they’re actually researched down to the design of the holes and all this stuff inhere and they designed this so that the fruit flies can get in, and once they find theirway in, they can’t get out. many fruit fly traps have one or two entrances. this haslike a dozen little entrances that the fruit flies will go into. they also found that thecolor in their testing was critical to attract more fruit flies, so that’s why it’s thisred color, kind of looks like a tomato. you put the attractant in here to come in here.they’ll drown, and they won’t be able to get out. once again we want to interrupttheir cycle so that once we trap the adults

they can’t lay eggs and we won’t get more. so once more the fruit fly traps with theattractant should get rid of your fruit fly problem.so the next booth i’m going to share with you guys offers you guys a solution if youwant to grow outside, start your season earlier, end your season later, and e able to growyour plants affordably in a temporary greenhouse that you can easily move and take down. we’reat the booth of shelter logic, and let me show you guys this. at shelter logic, they’vebeen making those carports forever. they’re probably the top brand on carports and i’vealways gone into costco and seen the big shelter logic carport things they sell there and i’mlike, “man they’ve got good steel on that

stuff. it’s not going to blow away.” and if you want a good greenhouse you canbuy the shelter logic car shelter and put some plastic on it, but now why do that becausethey’ve come out with their own little greenhouse line in sizes from small homeowners, evendown to a raised bed size, to large commercial units? so let’s come in here and show youguys the shelter logic greenhouse here. it’s got that same durable steel construction.trust me, i’ve built the cheap ones that are like this and this is a lot higher quality.it’s actually just a push-in design so it’s very simple and easy to disassemble for anybody.they also have, besides the standard bars up at top, they also have a support here atthe bottom that’s not at ground level, so

i like this a lot. they have venting actuallyon both sides and you could put a solar fan on here to get some airflow because airflowcan be very important when gardening in a greenhouse. another thing that’s really cool besidesthe powder-coated steel framing that’s going to be very durable and last you for yearsis they’ve done their research on the material that they’re using. a lot of cheap inexpensivegreenhouses have some cheap pvc vinyl that’ll be gone and degrade within a season. thisstuff is tested, because it’s basically the same stuff they use for their carportsthat they’ve done for many years now. it’s uv-treated so it’s going to be durable butmore importantly, they’ve done testing and

growth-testing results and compared it todifferent materials on the market. so for example, here’s their greenhousetesting here, and you can see this is the overall growth. so the scrim, which is actuallythe stuff that many greenhouses use, has the most growth. next to that, their 5.5-ouncematerial had the second most growth and actually, interestingly enough, the polycarbonate growthwas actually not that much. now besides just the overall growth, which is really important, another thing that’s very important to people in this day and age is water conservation.water is my opinion is a precious resource and should be conserved whenever possible. so besides the growth testing, you can seehere they’ve done testing with the water

consumption. so for example, the polycarbonatehere had the most water consumption. because why? because it’s clear. it lets the mostlight through so it causes the most evaporation. but with their material here, for example, the 5.5-ounce, because it doesn’t let in all the light and the evaporation off, itkeeps the heat lower. there’s the least amount of evaporation, so this means whenpicking shelter logic greenhouses, you’re going to have the highest levels of plantgrowth with the least amount of water, and i think that’s really important. not manycompanies do this kind of testing to dial in their products to give you guys the bestproducts that are the best and with shelter logic, you’re going to get just that.

next i want to show you actually outside thegreenhouse and show you some other cool venting features that i haven’t seen on any homeowner-stylegreenhouse until now. another feature of these shelter logic greenhouse are these easy flowside panels. check it out. with just one little clip here, you can roll this little top down.you can actually put a bar in here to weight it down and then this is going to stay down.this is going to keep your greenhouse warm. but say in the summer you want some extraairflow because guess what, heat rises, you guys could open this up, roll it up on a bar, attach it to this easy bungee right here, and now you’ve got instant airflow, so yourplants can get more airflow and be more resistant to disease.

some kinds of diseases like it when there’sstagnant air and with more airflow, it’s only a better thing in my opinion. now besidesthis kind of backyard-style shelter logic greenhouse, they’ve got two more sizes iwant to share with you. so besides the standard greenhouse in a box design that you guys sawthat comes in nine different sizes all the way up to 12 by 20, so that’s a huge greenhouseif you’re serious about growing some food at home, you might want to get that superlarge one. but they also have this one right here, which is their commercial version, whichis more of a hoop-style design, so that’s going to be stronger in the elements and definitelynice and big. you could grow a lot of plants in one of these shelter logic pro greenhouses.

so besides the large freestanding greenhousesthat i’ve shared with you guys, shelter logic’s also provided the raised bed roundtop greenhouse for your 4 foot by 4 foot raised beds. i believe they’ve also come out withother sizes. this item’s just under $100 so this will allow you to extend your seasonand grow more into the wintertime and also if you are growing in an area where you cangrow year round, this will only increase your production by keeping the weather more controlledinside. i like this design a lot and let me show it to you guys. first thing is, it’sbasically roll-top so you literally roll this up very safely and easily and as you guyscan see, we now have our little raised bed made out of wood.

cool thing about this is that they have thesecool stainless steel brackets that can be out on your garden year round. so you cantake the top attachment off, put it away, store it for the summertime, and put thisout, the bar, which is once again powder-coated steel, on here and put it outside to be ableto grow in a controlled environment. and in the days you’ll want to roll this up, letyour plants have some air and be able to breathe, get some airflow, and of course roll it downat night to keep that heat in which is oh so important for your plants. all at under$100 for this product and other products here are comparably priced to some of the othergreenhouses on the market. so i would encourage you guys, if you’relooking for a greenhouse, buy something of

quality. buy something like the shelter logicitems that are going to last you for years to come. now should the tops degrade overtime, they will also be offering parts and you can just get the replacement tops to puton the greenhouses, unlike many other cheap imported manufacturers that you just buy itand they basically don’t have any parts and you won’t be able to use that productand you’ll have to dispose of it and buy a new one. buy right, buy good ones the firsttime so that you’ll be able to grow for years to come. alright so next i want to show you guys asolution so that you can grow a little small garden in the wintertime, especially thoselittle herbs that you can keep on growing

in the winter with the world’s least expensivevertical garden i’ve ever found. this product’s amazing. it’s actually called the verticalgarden and all it is is three little planters you can use singularly or attach them togetherto have a vertical garden that’s actually self-watering. you water it, it has a littlereservoir at the bottom that keeps the water and will basically keep the water until it’sneeded. of course that doesn’t mean you can forget to water. you will also need towater them. and so the cool thing is you can use these separately but if you want the verticalgarden, take less space, hang it in your kitchen, hang it by a nice sunny window under yourlights. you can set it up like this, check it out.you could grow three little herb plants here,

and here’s some little basil. another goodone would be some thyme and oregano to grow in there. and mint would be, that works ina system. hang it up, water it the top, the water drips out from here into the next oneand the bottom one, so that it doesn’t drip out on the floor, it has a little containerhere to catch all the water on the bottom. vertical gardening is simple and easy andyou can now do it for $20 in your house. next we’ve got my favorite solution for growingin a community garden automatically. if you don’t have a community garden, youcan grow it at home with no electricity, actually with no running water. so what we’re goingto share with you guys next is a device that is completely solar-operated and check itout, this gives you the whole concept. you’re

collecting your rainwater. it needs to beabove level, like high up, so you’ve got some water pressure. this will not work ifthis is on the ground; there’s no motors. it needs to be high up, as high up as youcan get it, so you have more water pressure to push down. so you got your water container,55-gallon drum, high up, you have a spigot on there, you run it into a hose, an irrigationcontroller. it’s powered by solar power. now if it stopped there, you guys might bethinking, “that’s really cool john! i can solar power stuff, have it go on for fiveminutes, go off,” whatever your water cycling is, but that’s old school. setting timersis old school. the new way we want to do stuff is water on demand. only water as much asthe plant needs it, so what this system does,

it actually has a moisture detector in thesoil, in the container, or in the small raised bed you’re growing it. it senses the moisturebased on when you set it up. when you set it up, you put the probe in there and youlet the controller know that it’s dry. then you water it, and you tell the controllerthat it’s wet. and when the controller sees that it’s dry, it waters it to the pointwhere it’s moist and wet where you want it. and so it stays within that range, sothat’s the whole concept. so you can have a raised bed out in the middle of nowherecatching your rainwater, growing food whether you’re in the woods or in your backyard,so that’s really cool. but now take it to the next level. you don’t need to use itwith catching your rainwater. you can use

it at home with the standard spout. so youcan hook it up to your water spout, once again the controller’s controlling the water goingout to the plants as needed with the moisture sensor in there, and it’s all being fedwith the solar power. so this does have a solar panel that chargesthe batteries in there. the batteries are easily replaceable once they do go out, andthere is a low battery indicator. that’s how this whole system works. but besides justhaving the system, which is under $100 so you can control a 4-foot by 4-foot raisedbed, the challenge is going to be the water pressure and how much water pressure thatcan be controlled by one valve. so if you have multiple raised beds, you may need toget more than one system and have them offset

so that they don’t all go off at the sametime. now besides just that, they have a kit that you can purchase, and this is the sameexact kit irrigation controller with six different pots with a nice little rack that you canset up to grow food at home. once again, just hook it to a hose bib andthis will water everything for you so definitely cool in concept. but concepts are cool buti’m not sharing with you guys any concepts. these products, actually one of them’s onthe market now and one will soon be out. i’m going to share with you guys how this irrigationcontrol works. i’m going to go ahead and turn this on and when you turn it on you’regoing to see the battery level indicator. and you have two modes on this device here.if you hold the menu button down, it goes

into timer mode. so now you can use it asa standard timer if you do not want to use the moisture sensor attachment. you’re goingto hold this mode button down a couple seconds and then it’s going to go to moisture sensormode and looking here, it says “dry control.” so what you’re going to do is you’re goingto take the moisture sensor and if you’re doing a vegetable garden, you’re probablygoing to be about halfway down your beds. so if you’re bed’s 12 inches, you’regoing to bury this about six inches halfway down and this is completely waterproof. you’regoing to bury this down when your bed is at its dry state. it’ll tell then you the percentageof moisture in there and you’re simply going to hold down this button. it says, “drycontrol.” you’re going to hold the button

down, it’s going to set, and now the littlecomputer’s going to remember it’s dry when it’s at this percentage moisture level.then what you’re going to is you’re going to water your bed and make sure your bed iswatered down to the level you need it to be so your plants could be happy when you needa different moisture meter whether you’re using a bamboo barbecue skewer, whether you’reusing other kind of detector. you’re going to want to make sure your plantsare being watered appropriately. then you’re going to go over to this meter again and you’regoing to click the button over here that says “wet control.” then you’re going tohold that button down, and that’s going to set your range from dry to wet. so nowthe computer knows where it needs to be, and

it’s going to keep it there. a few of mycomments about this setup so far. i think it’s really great. the one thing is, theyjust give you this little solar panel that has holes in the back, but they don’t giveyou any bracketing or anything like that to mount it. this does have a fairly long cord on it. theother thing is that this timer control doesn’t have anything to mount it on either. if you’remounting it at your faucet it’s pretty easy because it’s just going to hang on the faucetbut if you’re running a hose up to it because you had to split a hose to get to here, theydon’t have anything to mount it or anything. so i might recommend making some kind of postto attach it to. the other thing is, the moisture

meter has a little wire on here, it’s abouteight feet long and if needed can be extended up to 50 feet. this unit has a one-year warranty on it, soi really like this setup in concept. hopefully it really works in the real world. stay tunedfor an upcoming episode for where i install mine and share with you guys how it works.next product i’m going to share with you guys at this booth is a whole entire kit.this irrigation control is under $100 and this whole entire kit, which includes thatirrigation control, a little stand, and six pots that allow you to grow on your balcony,on your patio, without ever having to worry about when to water. you’re going to takethis setup here, $150, comes almost all assembled.

all you’re going to have to do is sticka few hoses in, but all these little attachments and drippers are already made for you. you’regoing to set this up in your backyard, fill it with some potting soil, bury your moistureprobe appropriately so in these little containers, i would bury them about halfway. it’s veryimportant to place the moisture sensor properly. you don’t just stick them in like that.it needs to be parallel to the container you’re growing them in at the appropriate level,it’s about halfway in here. once you set it up, you can put seeds in here, get transplants, turn on the water, and it’s going to water automatically, and you’re going to be ableto come back in just a few weeks and have fresh greens or other fruiting crops, suchas tomatoes, in your garden.

so this product is not yet available but shouldbe available within a few months. so the next booth i’m going to share with you guys willgive you guys a solution to growing lettuce in the wintertime underneath lights insideor grow lettuce outside any time of the year, provided the weather’s nice. we’re hereat moss, and they’re a company in australia that’s been around over 50 years, and theyhave this cool device here that’s called the salad green grower. i need about ten ofthese guys. now this guy is going to retail for under $50 us. it’s currently availablein australia, but not available in the u.s. at this point they’re still looking fordistributors. this is a cool product, i mean check it out.you got sample lettuces here, but they’ve

got eight different heads you can grow inthis hydroponics system. it’s super simple, super easy. let me go ahead and share withyou guys how it works. we can go ahead and pull this up here. and how it works is theybasically have little net pods, and we’re going to fill the bottom reservoir up to acertain level with the water and the included nutrient solution. all you will need to provideare your little baby starter lettuce plants. you can also start from seed. i recommendyou guys always start from starter plants, especially if you’re new to gardening becausethere’s a much steeper learning curve for starting seeds than if you get plants. thisthing works; it’s going to grow your lettuce no problem. also there is some air vent gapsin here so it’s going to get a little bit

of aeration. there is no air stone. i personallywould add a little air bubbler, like from an aquarium so it’d work a bit better inmy opinion. and the other thing is you have this water reservoir, so you’re going tofill this up with water, you’re going to set it here, and what’s going to happenis as the water level goes down because of a small amount of evaporation, this is fairlysealed, and as the lettuce pulls the water up, this is going to bubble down, give a littlebit of oxygen but also replenish the water so that you don’t have to remember to water. then check it out. within about 30 days youcan start harvesting the outer leaves of the lettuce. you’re going to harvest the otherleaves, maybe one or two off each plant, go

around, and then you could have a little salad.and then the inside of the leaves are going to continue to grow. so after you start harvesting, you’ll be able to harvest for the next two months so that you can eat fresh greens everyday. the things i want you guys to do is grow in the wintertime. when you can’t grow outside, the next product will allow you to do that so you can have micro greens and even startyour plants for your garden inside, outside. and this is called the grow lite garden. this has actually been out for a few yearsbut i’d never seen it before. it’s definitely really cool because it makes it easy and simpleat about $130 to allow you to grow food at home, so this is specifically designed formicro greens and smaller herbs and we’ve

got some sun blaster lights in here, theseare t5s, energy-efficient, just two bulbs. shines a lot of bright light here in theselittle containers. this is actually a high-quality unit. the lights are made in canada; the wholehousing is made in the uk so no chinese stuff here. even these little trays, made in theuk, nice and heavy duty, that’ll last for many years. they give you four little trayshere. this is perfect for growing micro greens. for me personally, i would probably own twoof these guys and then every day i would start one try of micro greens so then i’d haveeight trays. i’d be able to harvest one tray of micro greens a day and every day, because one will finish one day, the next one will finish the next day, so you’llhave a continual supply of micro greens that

you grew throughout the winter. now besides just having the lights and thenice little containers, this also has a few innovative features i like. one of the challengesof with growing micro greens is water. either people overwater or underwater. or, they waterjust right. unfortunately, most people tend to overwater or underwater. and with thismoisture-wicking mat here, you’re guaranteed to get the proper amount of moisture everytime to all your plants. plus your plants will never run out of water because all youneed to do is fill this reservoir up. when you fill this reservoir up, it’s very importantto soak this wicking mat and then you set it in there. anytime you put plants in therealso with a good potting soil mixture, it’s

going to wick the water up as the plants needit so they never get overwatered. so that’s totally amazing, i like this alot, takes some of the guesswork out of gardening. another way you can use this, if you didn’twant to grow the microgreens is, you can remove all the little trays here. you can take smallpotted plants, put them on the wicking bed, and once again if you’re going on vacation, these will wick up the water. the challenge here is this is not super tall, though ifyou’re ingenuitive you can actually make these brackets taller so that you can growtaller plants. this next product i’m going to share with you guys is not necessarilyanything about growing, but it’s going to allow you to get the materials you need togrow, like compost and wood chips, to your

house without a truck, without getting yourcar or suv dirty, like i’ve done many times actually. it’s a product i need myself. check it out. it’s called a cargo apron.this is a product made in the usa. i like it a lot. it allows you to take your hatchbackcar or your suv, and it puts an apron in there with sides to protect your valuable car soit doesn’t get all messed up. you don’t have to sit there for hours and vacuum becauselet me tell you, the back of my car has a lot of compost and stuff, and i’m just toolazy to vacuum. but with this, i keep my car clean. so check it out, this is how it works.this is a little mockup model, and i mean this is a heavy-duty tarp that comes withlittle grommets with rope that you’re going

to strap around your front seats, and actuallyyou can use these suction cups that go to your windows on certain models and other models, you take them up to the garment hooks in your car. you load it all up, you put this little flapup, you close your compartment, and now you have a little truck bed in the back of yourbar so you can haul wood chips and compost and stuff and simply drop it down, unloadit and pull this whole device out, and you’re back to normal car you can haul people in,instead of cargo like i to do many times. so next we’re going to visit the booth ofwater gain, and we’re going to share two solutions with you guys. one solution is ifyou’ve got arthritis and you still like

to garden, you have challenges getting theplants out of little six-pack, or you don’t like getting your hands dirty. what they’vegot here is these plant tongs. they’re basically tongs, like pick up a salad, but they’respecially designed tongs with the right rake on it and the right size, plus a little diggerend to dig the plants out. and many people have problems getting plants out of the six-packs,and we’ve got a jumbo pack here. what this does is you’re going to put itbetween the soil and the container and pull them out. it makes gardening really simpleand easy. some people don’t have the dexterity to reach in there and grab it. and sometimeswhen you reach in and grab it, you mess up some of the roots. with the plant tongs youcan get the plants out properly every single

time and let me tell you this, i’ve beenusing this every single day, got this the first day of the show, i used it at home, and this stuff does work. for me personally this slows me down because i'm pretty quick, but for some people i can see a really big need and how this can really help them. andat under $5, this is totally affordable and would make a great gift for somebody. now the other solution they’re going tooffer you at the water gain booth is this guy right here. it’s actually called thetomboy. now i like the tomboy because undoubtedly every year there’s tomatoes i plant withouta cage on them. what do you when you plant a tomato without a cage? it’s falling over,it’s looking not so nice. well with a tomboy

you could literally take a stake and put itnext to the tomato so you’re not going to hurt the tomato, you try to put a tomato cageover this, you’re going to mess it up, right? but with a tomboy what it is you’re goingto take any stake, whether you’ve got a rebar stake, so it’s nice and heavy duty,or a wooden stake. so then you’re going to take this tomboy and what it is is it goesover the top of the stake. you put it down in there, you unscrew this little clamp thingthat goes in to the level you need, you tighten it up, and now you can take these little arms. it has four little arms — we’ve only gottwo arms — but this thing has four arms. you go around to where you need it, and it’sgoing to support your tomato plants. and if

your tomato plant’s too heavy because it’sgot tomatoes on it, guess what? bend another one over there for double support on yourtomato to hold them up. and actually you could probably make a nice little arrangement, maybemake an elephant on your tomato by shaping a trunk on it with two little ears with thetomboy. so the next solution i’m going to provide you guys is for people that rent andyou’re going to move soon, but you still want to have a raised bed garden. this isthe product you need to do that. right here with the hanes geo component foods, and they have the quick garden pro. basically what this is, this is a large fabric pot.this one here is a 2-foot diameter. they also have a 3-foot diameter and check it out. ilike this fabric pot because number one, it

has a seam on the top, so this is going tohelp keep the top up so it looks nice and pretty as they have this little display outhere. the other thing i like about this is it has these nice heavy-duty handles, so youcan take these handles, pick it up, and just carry it if you’re moving and take it withyou. now the cool thing is the price. this one’s expected to be around $15, maybea little bit under that, and then they got the nice larger one here. this is a 3-footmodel, and it’s under $20. so this allows everybody to be able to make a little raisedbed garden. this is absolutely the easiest-to-assemble raised bed garden ever because you unfoldit, lift it up, put dirt in it, and now you’re gardening. when you move, pick it up and takeit with you. alright, so now we’re going

to share with you guys a solution for growingin a shorter season. if you live somewhere that has a season that’s like 90 days orless, you need to grow certain crops because other crops won’t mature in that short season.so we’re at the booth of irish eyes garden seeds, and they have a family-owned untreatednon-gmo heirloom organic and non-organic seeds here. they have a whole collection. but the reason why i’m here besides thatis because they specialize in growing seed stock of potatoes, and they have over 30 varietiesof potatoes, including heirloom potatoes that are purple and blue and all different colors.i’m not a big fan of potatoes but if you want to grow potatoes, i would encourage youguys to grow a lot of different varieties

because some potatoes are more disease-resistantthan others. also some of the potatoes taste way better than others. if you’re just eatingrussets all the time, i think that’s the pits. you gotta eat some of those nice, cool,antioxidant-rich purple potatoes and all those cool vibrant colors. in addition they gotdifferent kinds of onions and garlic sets that you can plant in your garden to havea bountiful garden each and every year in the short season. so now we’re going to offer you guys a solutionfor extending your growing season, whether you want to grow into the winter or startyour plants before it gets really warm outside. we’re here at grow it now, and they’vegot two products i’m going to share with

you guys. number one, check this out, thenicest greenhouse for a raised bed that i’ve ever seen. both sides have a handle and thisis really nice and cool. you could grow some plants in here and inside, whoa, even withair-conditioned hall in here, it’s actually warmer inside with the tops down, so i canimagine just how much better your plants are going to grow, being in a controlled environment. also this will help keep bugs and pests awayfrom your plants, although it is not airproof because there needs to be some circulation.if you get this i do recommend keeping it closed up at night and open it up in the daytimeto let your plants breathe and get some real sun. so the next product i’m going to sharewith you guys right now and i’ve shared

with you guys the regular version, this isjust a standard grow it now mini greenhouse, but now they’ve come out with a grow itnow mini greenhouse giant version. check this baby out. this is the largest cloche, or littlegreenhouse for individual plants. so why this is really beneficial is say the beginningof the season or the end of the season, you want to extend your growing season. so you get a frostate and you’re going tolose your crop. but with this you can keep them a few extra days to allow your tomatoesripen. it’s going to stay warm inside and check it out. we can pull this guy out, youjust stake it down to the ground and check it out, you could have a whole little tomatocage with a tomato plant. obviously there

should be plants in the raised bed, and youcan get away with planting earlier and harvesting later so you got more food from your garden, instead of buying it from the grocery store. alright i got some good news. so from thegrow it now company, if you want to get any of the products you saw at their booth today,i’ve negotiated a special discounted rate — 20 percent off — so that if this guyretails for $500, that means you’ll be able to get it for $400. a 4 by 8 greenhouse forany raised bed. also those miniature greenhouses get 20 percent off if you want to visit growitnow.com/gyg. so next i have another solution for you guys,if you guys spill oil or transmission fluid or gasoline on the ground, you want to getit cleaned up and you don’t have kitty litter,

right? there’s an even better solution thatyou already have that you may already be gardening with. another way you could use this to cleanyour pots and pans after they’ve got that oily residue, i don’t recommend you guyseat fried foods but if you do, this stuff you’re going to need to clean up your potsand pans. you can actually take it out of the garden. buy the real stuff here. thisis actually called coco absorb. and what this simply is, this is just the coconut fiberout of the coconut here. they take the coconut fiber from the coconutand this stuff is very absorbent, better than kitty litter for getting stains and oil outof the ground if you do have a spill. and it’s really funny, the owner of the companywas working with the hydraulic machinery and

had a hydraulic leak, and if it gets intothe soil, then the hazmat team gotta come. he was also delivering some coconut core fora gardening job or whatever, and he didn’t have anything to throw in it because he didn’twant that to run off into the stream. he threw this stuff down and it absorbed it right up,so there are many different natural solutions for many of man’s problems in this day andage. and i’m glad coco absorb that’s now available at home depot and ace hardware isthere to provide natural solutions to clean up man-made messes. alright so now i got anothersolution for you guys. check it out, i know some of you guys stilllive in apartments and condos, and you want to compost. you can’t have a big tumbler, you can’t have a compost pile for sure.

maybe you could have a worm bin, but thenyou gotta take care of the worms, make sure they stay alive, right? well now we’re hereat the food cycle science, and this is an industrial company that started out makingbig industrial machines to reduce food waste. and what they’ve done is they’ve takenthat technology and shrunk this down and put it on your countertop so you can make nowa compost soil amendment to add to your potted plant sin your house and also your garden.so here it is right here. this is the end product of their industrialprocess machines, and this stuff looks like coffee grounds, but it’s extremely dry.you could add this to your garden. this is actually very high in carbon, which is reallygood. of course whatever you’re putting

in the machine there, you’re going to getout. so if you’re eating a high salt diet, guess what, you’re going to get high saltcompost soil amendment. so i don’t recommend eating a high salt diet for health reasons, but also because you don’t want to put a lot of salt in your garden either. so letme go ahead and show you guys this little device that sits on your countertop. thisis super small; it allows people in big cities and large country homes to compost if theydon’t have an outside bin. that being said, i will always encourage youguys to do standard composting, thermophilic in a big pile or compost tumbler like i do,or worm composting, if you can, before this, but i think this is an excellent idea becauseit can reduce your food waste by 90 percent.

and the worst thing you could do is take foodand put it in the garbage to go to the landfill. at least this way you’re reusing it. socheck it out. what we got is a nice little machine here, and this does make compost withoutodors. i have an ex-girlfriend that i had another machine that you plug it in insidethe house and it smelled terrible, and she wouldn’t allow it actually. i had to stopcomposting. this is not going to make any odors for you guys. and what you’re goingto do is open this top up, super simple, super easy, you’re going to fill this up withall your foods scraps. you could put clamshells in here; you couldput shrimp shells. you could put some bones, like fish bones in here, your vegetables.you didn’t eat your stuff from mcdonald’s,

which i don’t recommend either, put it inhere man. and then load and lock it up, spin that top back on, press the button, walk away.come back three hours later, you got a completed cycle and you got the stuff coming out. socheck it out, that’s what they did on this one. this one is now done. it heats up toabout 180 degrees, it grins and dehydrates, and what they’ve put in here was reallycool. the guys here, they filled this up to the brim with the sbarro salad from the localfood joint here at the convention, and they processed it. this is the compost that you’re gettingout that you can now add to your garden. so this is rich in ultimate organic matter that’snow been reduced to 90 percent that’s not

going to have that moisture, that’s notgoing to get that mold if you put food scraps your garden, ready to use and small and easyform factor. so the last thing i want to share with you guys, i love this device. the onlyproblem i have with it is the price. it’s definitely spendy, but they’ve taken thatindustrial machinery, compacted down to your countertop and hopefully over the time theprice is going to come down. until that time, what i’ve done for you guys is negotiateda special discounted pricing. we’re going to chop off $100 for you guysso you guys can get it at an affordable price. so to purchase your very own food cycler andget that $100 discount, you want to visit nofoodwaste.com. alright so now i’ve gotanother solution for you. we’re at the booth

of ecotonix, so they’re going to help youget your food waste composted. so one of the challenges that happens a lot in gardeningis you have food waste, you put it in your compost pile, and then it just never seemsto break down. it takes so long. but what if you could speed up your composting processby up to 10 times so it will reduce the amount of time it takes for you to generate yourcompost? compost to me is probably one of the mostimportant things that you can add to your garden, and with this product you can speedit up. so what we got here is the ecotonix compost shredder, and what this is, it’svery simply, when you’re done with your kitchen scraps and your food waste, insteadof just throwing it into a little composter

keeper — actually, some of those guys getexpensive — you can put it through the composter shredder. you’re going to open up the littletop here, put your foods scraps in there, and turn this. you’re going to turn it oneway, turn it the other way. what it does is with a specially designedblade system that’s all stainless steel and actually this is quite heavy, they engineeredand designed this properly so that this chops up all the food waste into smaller pieces.but not even smaller pieces, the best size to get the most efficiency out of compostingit to create the most surface area, but not making it into a mush, which is actually notgood because there’s not enough aeration in there. so whether you want to feed thisnow to your worms, whether your want to put

this in your compost pile, it’s going tobe broken down up to ten times faster, so i like that a lot. the other cool thing isthis is a zeolite filter in here, so this is going to reduce the food waste. plus if you get fruit flies in your compostbin, this is a sealed unit, so if the fruit flies are in there, they’re not going tobe able to escape because the top you can just take the whole unit outside, open itup and let the fruit flies go outside instead of in your house to breed and multiply. thelast thing i want to mention about this unit here that i like so much is that this willget kids involved with composting. it’s difficult to get kids involved with composting, but when i was a kid i liked gadgets. if i

had this gadget, i would’ve been compostingwhen i was four. you just get this set up, and this is kid-friendly,kid-safe, you set this up for them, teach them how to put the food in there, and maybethey’ll even be your food compost shredders of everything they get. you put it in there, then they get to spin the little handle frontwards, backwards, grind up all that food waste andyou have it in a little food tray that you can then put in your worm bin or take outsidecomposting. i definitely think it’s really important to get kids involved in the foodsystem whether it’s composting waste or growing vegetables and fruits on the garden, getting them to eat it too, because kids are the future.

if things are coming out of packages, bottlesand jars, and we’re throwing away the food waste to the landfill, it’s not helpinganybody. so the next product at ecotonix is something i’ve never seen before, and thisis going to help you guys to have a more efficient and effective garden in your beds, or justto start keeping some worms so that you can break down some of the food scraps. and oneof the most important soil nutrients or additives you can add, in my opinion, is the worm castings, whether you want to make the worm castings in a bin and then distribute them in yourbeds, or much smarter, is put the worms in the bed so you can let the worms make thecastings where your plants need it right there. they’re going to allow you to do that withthe worm bombs. now you guys have seen the

seed bombs, but i’ve never before seen wormbombs. so what you do is you throw it like a grenade, boom! it blows up in worms andputs them everywhere! just kidding. so what happens with these worm bombs is inside here, and this is all compostable packaging made out of pla material or the stork material,we open it up, inside we’re going to have a few things. check it out. first we got thebedding material for the worms. now there are no live worms in here. the amazing thingabout this is, this has a six-month shelf life. so before you buy your worm bombs, you’regoing to want to check the date on there and make sure they’re not expired. after wepull out the bedding here, what you’re seeing

is the clay, the eggs are encased inside theclay to keep them stable so that they can live inside these little clay balls untilyou soak them and put them in your garden. don’t forget to put the bedding becausethe bedding is treated with a special pheromone that they go crazy and nuts for. so afterthey hatch they’ll smell this — whew! it even turns me on! it’ll turn the wormson and get them multiplying and breeding and feeding instantly in your garden so you’llhave up to 500 worms in here. now just buying worms, that’s not too exciting, because you can buy worms in the mail. this makes them more shippable, more easy to transport, and the other thing i haven’t seen too often when you buy worms is that there are six differentspecies of worms inside here that are going

to go into your garden and populate differentlayers and areas of your garden. some of the worm varieties may grow better in your areaand they’ll breed and multiply. some of the other ones might not like your climateand might go away, but you don’t know this unless you try them all and find out, andthat’s what i like about this product. so this is available for under $15. this is notyet out but look for it soon. last thing before i love that i want to sharewith you guys is what the worms can do with your garden. i mean everybody should be keepingworms, whether you buy them live or these worm bombs that blow up in your garden. wegot a little sample here of clear housing, and they put their little worm bombs in thereand the worms have hatched. if you look through

here, i don’t know if we’re going to beable to see any worms, but this is what i wanted to show you. this was compressed soil.what the worms do is they get in here, and they burrow and they make little burrows. not like a mole or anything because they’renot that big, but they make little passageways in through the soil when they’re tryingto get food and reproduce and do all the cool things worms do. but they’re aerating yoursoil and conventional agriculture and conventional chemical gardening, they don’t care aboutthe earthworms. to me, earthworms are critical components of your garden to get optimal results, not only for the aeration, but for the nutritious fertilizer and worm castings worms can provide.alright, so the next solution i have for you

guys, some of you guys may be indoor gardeners,if you know what i mean, and you may have fungus gnat problems. i’m an indoor gardener, not that kind ofindoor gardener, but i also have fungus problems and i need a solution because i don’t wantto spray toxic stuff on my plants. well, i always like to look to nature for answersand what kills fungus fast? well check it out, it’s nematodes! we’ve got these littlepotted plants, and these are called the pot poppers. and the cool thing about these ismost nematodes need to be refrigerated otherwise poof! they’re gone. they blow up. just kiddingactually. well they lose their life if they’re not refrigerated. in this special media thatthey have here, the nematodes will still alive,

so all you do is you open up a little packetand you get eight of these guys for one little egg here and it’s like a little teabag thing.and this little teabag you put on top of your pot, one teabag works for a 12-inch diameterpot. you put it on the top, you water it in. thenematodes are then released into the top layers of the pot over the next seven days, and thenthey go after those fungus gnats and destroy them all so that your fungus gnat problemwill be done with no chemicals. so definitely really cool. non-refrigerated, so you guyscan buy these guys online and get them shipped here, so that’s really cool. the other productthey have that i'm really interested in is actually this guy. it’s called the nemaglobenematode, and what these guys are, these guys

kick ass on the grubs. there’s many different kinds of grubs, andthey’re not all the same kind. there may be things like milky spores that work on certainkinds of grubs, but they might not work on the other ones. the nematodes don’t carewhat kind of grub; they’ll take them out. so this little globe here treats up to 3,000square feet of garden space and let me tell you, grubs are not fun. last year at the endof the season, i took a 4-foot round circular raised bed and guess what i did to get thegrubs out organically? i dug out all the soil, handful by handful, and put it through a screenand picked out all those buggers and popped them. sometimes they sprayed in my eye andi didn’t particularly care for that too

much. so this would’ve been totally perfect. igotta get some of these, and i'm instantly going to spray it in my garden and guess what?i’m going to get free workers working for me with the nemaglobe nematodes. so now ihave another solution for you guys if your problem is being able to grow in a small spaceor growing plants up vertically and having lots of yield. burpee will offer your guysa solution. so not only do they have gmo free seeds here, they also offer in select marketsthe whole plants, so we’re going to go over to their section with the plants and sharesome of my favorite small-space garden plants with you guys. i’m going to share with youa few varieties of plants that i really like

at burpee. to me, burpee leads the industry in developingall these hybrids and making plants that really yield a lot, but more importantly than yieldinga lot because there are already plants that do that, that taste good, too. many peoplemight be trying to garden in a small space, whether that means your patio garden or whetherthat means a raised bed, and you want to grow more compact plants that don’t get twelvefeet long, if they’re indeterminate tomatoes but still produce a good yield for you. andthat’s what they’ve done here with this guy. this is actually called the fresh pickle cucumber, and they had this growing out in one little

pot. you could put this on your patio, inyour walkway, it’s nice decoration, but the cool thing about this, check it out. youcan see all these little cucumbers on there. there’s one there, one there. they’reall over the place. this one plant will yield about 50 cucumbers over the season, so ifyou have a couple plants, you can have 100 cucumbers and that’s probably more thanyou can eat. i can definitely juice them and i’d probably be picking them up for sure.and that’s what these plants look like right here. these are nice, beautiful plants and the otherthing is these stay more compact than other varieties of cucumbers that can get superextremely large. they’ve grown these through

traditional breeding methods to have certaincharacteristics. it’s much like people, right? some people have blonde hair, somepeople have red hair, some people have black hair. that’s a characteristic, an expressionof the genes, and they’ve done it through selective breeding, with no gmos, keepingplants small while getting the production up. definitely cool on the cucumbers. nextwe’re going to go to these guys. these guys are the sweet pepper tangerinedream. these are a compact plant and check it out, here’s a picture of the tangerinedream on the cover. this is how many fruits this one small pepper plant can have, andactually i grew these out last year and they were quite productive and tasted really good.i liked them a lot. over the other side we

got these tomatoes and this tomato’s actuallycalled the sweetheart of the patio. i’m growing patio tomatoes for the primary reasonis that the plants stay compact and small. i wanted small plants that didn’t go toocrazy, but the problem i have with the standard patio tomato is that it doesn’t taste thatgood to me. so this here, this is the sweetheart of the patio, so this is a better-tastingfruit, this can produce a smaller cherry style variety. and check this out if you look closely. i know the fruits blend in with the leaves, but look at all the tomatoes here. this thing is covered. there’s probably at least 100little tomatoes on this one plant and once again, if you think you can’t garden ifyou have a small space, check it out. i could

lift this and walk away with it and take ithome and have over 100 tomatoes right here! you could grow these guys anywhere. let’stalk about a few more tomatoes that i like. and these guys, this is the indigo fireballf1, and this is the indigo kumquat f1, so for those of you guys that don’t know, there’san indigo tomato, and this was developed at the pacific northwest at the university, andthey developed a tomato that has high anthocyanins, which are basically antixodiants. so it’s really good for you. it’s likeeating goji berries with the antioxidants. indigo tomatoes have high levels of antioxidants.the problem i had was that they didn’t taste all that great. they yielded fabulously, butthey didn’t taste that good. so now what

burpee had done through selective readingand working with the people they work with, they made an indigo-style tomato with thedark rich, purple color, so that means increased anthochyanin content, but also they got goodflavor in there. same thing with the kumquat. this is actually a bit sweeter than the standardindigo fireball. now the other thing they’ve done is youguys know about tomatoes right? there are two kinds of tomato plants. there’s indeterminatetomato plants, the kind you just plant. they just grow and grow and grow until it frosts, and they’re yielding all the time. some of these indeterminate plants, mine have goneup to 12 feet tall going up, and i used the texas tomato cages to keep my tomato plantsgrowing that big. you gotta train them and

cut them back and whatnot. then we’ve gotthe determinate-style, and the determinate-style tomato has a determined life span. it grows for a specific period of time, andyields all its fruits, and then you’re done. so burpee is classifying these as a semi-determinateplant. so these grow, but they don’t grow super gigantic and super large, and they havea good yield the whole time through on smaller, more compact plants. that’s especially goodfor small spaces. so besides your standard cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes that i’vecovered, if you’re italian, you’re also going to want the basil. there’s so manydifferent kinds of basil out there and once again, every basil has a different color andleaf shape and all that kind of stuff.

what burpee has done is they’ve taken thesevarieties of basil, which is a frilly variety of basil, which is really cool, this doesn’tlook like basil too much because it has nice frilly leaves, a trait you don’t often see.besides having the standard green frilly, they have a ruby frilly, which actually hasa kind of variegated leaf. this is beautiful. if you guys put this in a flower arrangementwith nonedible flowers, it would look like they’re nonedible, yet you can eat all theseguys. the cool things about these plants is that these are late-maturing plants, and whatthat means is they will not develop their flowers and go to seed as quickly as someof the other varieties. and it also provides you a wealth of leaves. these full-size leavesare nice and large and mm, quite delicious.

alright so what did you guys think? did youlike that national hardware show episode? after i came back from the national hardwareshow, i did get some of the companies to give me samples of their products. some of theproducts that i got to sample out is i got that nifty composter that uses heat to breakdown the produce and so i’m going to be making an episode with that composter foryou guys. i got some of those cool plants from burpee, and i planted those guys outin my garden. they’re doing great right now at this time and i really love some ofthose burpee unique and exotic varieties, especially the ones for small-space growingbecause i know many of you may be living in an apartment or condo and have not that muchspace.

so some of those plants are the plants thatyou should definitely buy, especially some of my favorite plants that i got from thereare those ruffled basils. those guys are growing great. they’re not flowering yet like myother basils, they’re productive, and just really luscious. and hey, they taste good, too. oh the coco absorb stuff, that stuff’s the bomb. if you’ve got coconut core justlaying around, you got an oil spill, use that instead of using kitty litter or some kindof other toxins. these are the kinds of things i learn when i go to these shows. no otheryoutuber that i know of teaches you all this stuff about gardening, goes to the shows toshow you the latest products that might get you excited about gardening and growing yourown food.

the other product i really love too, hopeto get a sample, is that little lettuce grower that you can grow inside. yeah, it’s a pieceof plastic junk, but if it allows you to grow lettuce instead of buying lettuce in the wintertimefrom your supermarket that’s shipped in from california and you live in new york,it allows you to grow lettuce in your kitchen and yeah it’s plastic, but that’s justvaluable to me. so hopefully you guys really enjoyed this episode. if you enjoyed thisepisode, please give me a thumbs up, let me know that you liked it. maybe i’ll continueto go to these shows and do these episodes for you guys, and if i don’t get enoughthumbs up, maybe i’ll stop now while i’m ahead.

in any case, be sure to subscribe to me ifyou’re not already, be sure to check my past episodes where i teach you guys how togarden and some of the videos teach you how to do it without products. also be sure tocheck me out on instagram.com/growingyourgreens, where i’m basically snapping pictures ofthings i’m eating that day, things in my garden, and cool pictures, and hummingbirdsthat i’m seeing right now that you’re not going to get on my youtube channel. sohopefully you guys enjoyed this episode. once again, my name is john kohler with growingyourgreens.com.we’ll see you next time and remember, keep on growing.
